BED Electrical, formally known as BED (Corby) Ltd, has established itself as a significant player in the electrical wholesale industry, boasting over 30 years of experience. The company, which operates primarily in the East Midlands from six branches, focuses on providing a wide range of electrical supplies, fixtures, and fittings to both trade and public customers. Their product offerings are extensive, covering categories like cables, tools, industrial controls, and lighting solutions, ensuring they cater to diverse electrical needs.

BED Electrical supports a collaborative approach by being members of notable organizations such as ANEW, Imelco, and EDA. These affiliations enhance their relationships with manufacturers and contribute to their ongoing development, ensuring they remain at the forefront of industry standards.

During our initial discussions with BED Electrical, we were tasked with reviewing their company values. However, it quickly became clear that their visual identity and overall brand messaging lacked a cohesive vision. To address this, WTBI stepped in to create a comprehensive set of brand guidelines. These guidelines outlined the structural elements of the logo, including proportions and colour palettes, while also specifying the correct usage of the logo in various contexts. Additionally, we established font selections for both print and online applications, ensuring a consistent and professional appearance across all platforms.
The brand guidelines extended beyond just visual elements; they encompassed the company’s tone of voice, stationery design, iconography, signage, and vehicle livery. This thorough approach allowed us to provide BED Electrical with a unified brand identity that resonates with their values and market position. To facilitate further use and implementation, we developed a brand pack for third parties and various branches of the company, ensuring easy access to specific brand resources. This initiative has not only strengthened BED Electrical’s branding but also improved their overall market presence and coherence.

In addition to the comprehensive brand guidelines, we also developed a series of social media and direct mail templates using Adobe Illustrator. These templates were designed to streamline the process for BED Electrical’s branches, enabling them to quickly and effectively create promotional materials that align with their established brand identity. By providing customisable and user-friendly templates, we aimed to empower each branch to maintain consistency in their messaging and visual presentation while also enhancing their marketing efforts. This initiative not only saved time but also ensured that every piece of communication reflected BED Electrical’s unified brand vision, allowing for a more cohesive approach to their marketing strategies across all channels.
