The Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) represents UK professionals in building controls and Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS). Established in 2004, it provides industry-specific training, strategic support, and resources for improving energy efficiency, cost savings, and environmental impact in building management.

BCIA also organises annual awards to recognise industry achievements and offers various membership options, networking events, and training programs for professionals.

The Building Controls Industry Association were looking to make improvements to their existing site to better help service the BCIA members. This would need to include a design refresh, improved UX and the addition of missing features. New areas would need to be created for specific content types such as Members listings, Events and Training options. These areas would each incorporate unique UX to help visitors access information quickly. BCIA also indicated that improvements for mobile device users would be a part of this project. WTBI jumped at the opportunity to help.

Additionally Members would need to access restricted content such as meeting notes and members only events. This would be achieved via the creation of a restricted area of the website accessible by the visitor logging in. Visitors using the site to find training courses would be offered a visually interesting but logical path through the training booking journey, ensuring the experience was as productive as possible.
