Bwyd Da Bangor Cafe serves up new website
Bwyd Da Bangor is a not-for-profit café, deli, and bistro in Bangor, Wales, focusing on sustainable, local, and organic produce. It serves as a community hub, addressing food waste with a surplus food club and hosting events for local artists. The café also offers regular open mic nights, private event bookings, and fine dining evenings, creating a welcoming space for social engagement and environmental awareness.
Bwyd Da Bangor were looking at creating a new website that would help the local community to access their cafe, events and food surplus club. The site would need to be simple to use, accessible for users on a broad range of device types and serve up content in both Welsh and English. The creation of an equally usable administration area would be required so members of the cafe’s admin team could quickly add content in this fast moving environment. WTBI were keen to help.
Bwyd Da Bangor had some additional project requirements, firstly an interesting but intuitive way for visitors to browse through the food and drink menus available in the cafe. A members area for the food surplus club would also need to be created, this would be secured by a login page and restricted to approved members only. Latestly an events section to the website would be added, this would take the form of a calendar of available events taking place in the cafe and have features for the purchase and download of tickets.
