Training Dunkelman's staff on all things shiny
Dunkelman & Son is a British company founded in 1946, specialising in shoe care products and accessories. Known for its quality craftsmanship, the company produces a range of shoe-related items, such as shoe polishes, creams, brushes, and other leather care essentials. One of their hallmark products is the Dasco brand, which includes shoe trees, stretchers, and care products that are widely respected for maintaining and extending the life of footwear.
The company remains a trusted name in footwear maintenance, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to support quality shoe care.
Dunkelman in collaboration with Waproo (Australia) were looking to develop an online training platform. This platform would focus around the key objective of improving in-store staff’s knowledge of the after care products customers might require when purchasing footwear. The training would take the form of watching videos and answering questions on what they had seen. There would also be incentives available for staff that were highly engaged with the training process.
It was decided that WordPress would be a good fit for the general content and media, but a series of custom plugins would also be required. WTBI developed plugins to handle the creation of questionnaires for each tutorial, configure the prize giveaways, and the set up of staff in the various stores. Additionally a plugin to select the prize winners was developed, this needed to conform to an agreed set of regulations to ensure fairness and transparency Custom reporting dashboards were also created to analyse which stores and staff were engaging with the platform, amongst other metrics.
